Good morning, Friend 🙏🏼
There is a kind of love the world does not talk about very often. Not the love of the first dance or the first kiss. Not the love that makes your heart race. But the love that is still there on the ordinary Tuesday morning when the coffee is cold, the house is messy, and neither of you feels particularly romantic and yet something deeper than feeling holds you together. 🌿
That is the love of two people who have grown together. And it is one of the most sacred things God ever created.
A verse that speaks so beautifully into this is:
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
What I love most about this verse is what it does not say. It does not describe love as a feeling. It does not mention butterflies or romance or perfect moments. It describes love as two people falling down and helping each other back up. Two people keeping each other warm. Two people standing together when life tries to overpower them. That is marriage. Not the highlight reel - the real thing. ✨
And then comes the part that changes everything - a cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Two people can build something beautiful. But two people with God at the center... that is something the world cannot break. Because when He is the third strand, woven into every disagreement you chose to work through, every season you almost gave up but didn't, every quiet prayer whispered for each other when the other one didn't know - the bond becomes something stronger than either of you could ever create alone. 💛
An anniversary is not just a celebration of time. It is a testimony. It says we chose each other again. Through the beautiful and the broken. Through the laughter and the tears. Through the seasons that tested us and the grace that carried us. We are still here... not because love was always easy, but because God was always faithful.
Every year is a thread woven into something eternal. Every moment you chose love when it cost you something is a moment that reflects God's own heart. And the cord that holds you is not just your commitment to each other... it is His commitment to both of you. 🌱
May God continue to weave Himself into the center of your love, strengthening what is strong, healing what is tender, and reminding you both that the best chapters of your story are still being written. 🕊️
Stay blessed,
